Tirupati is situated in the Chitrakoot district in Andhra Pradesh, India and is one of the holiest pilgrimage spots in India. Tirupati is known for the shrine on the 7 hills of Tirumala, devoted to Lord Venkateshwara. ‘Tirumala’ literally translates as the “sacred hill”. Besides, the temple of Tirupati is known to be the busiest temple in the world.

Lord Venkateshwara Temple is located in Tirumala, 18 kilometers north-west of Tirupati. Shri Venkateshwara Temple is the abode of Lord Venkateshwara or Lord Balaji, within the chamber of which is the grandiose ‘Swayambhu’ or the naturally formed image of the Lord.

Swami Pushkarini is the sanctified tank, next to the Venkateshwara Temple, where the pilgrims take bath before entering the main temple. Tours to Tirupati can also include visits to other sites like the Shri Veda Narayanaswamy Temple, Shri Padmavathi Ammavari Temple and Shri Kapileshwaraswami Temple.
